HIKING/WALKING/RUNNING

Our parks feature trails great for everything from a family walk to a cross-country race. Check out individual park websites to learn more about the trails in each park. 

DOGWALKING

Permitted in all parks except Crall Woods. Dogs must be under control at all times and all dogs must be on leash at all times at Freer Field. Owners are responsible for removing and disposing properly of dog waste.

BIRDWATCHING

GEOCACHING

Geocaching is the sport of using GPS technology to search for and find hidden caches. ACPD has several caches within its borders and the option for adding more. To learn more about geocaching in the ACPD, please click here. Also, check out www.geocaching.com to learn more.

HUNTING

The ACPD is a multi-use park system and regulated, seasonal hunting is permitted in designated parks. All hunters must follow ACPD regulations as well as all regulations and seasons as designated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and/or state and federal statutes.

FISHING

Pond fishing  (No license required, all “catch and release”): Blackfork Bottoms, Byers Woods (4 ponds), CoolSprings (2 ponds), Sauers Farm (2 ponds), Cooke Family, Hurdle Park (3 ponds), and Sprinkle

River fishing  (License required): Hopkins Landing, Riverwalk, Carpenter Wetlands, Cooke Family, Blackfork Bottoms, and Esbenshade
